Bioheat

Bioheat

Bioheat® is traditional home heating oil blended with biodiesel.

In 2013 New York, the leading state in heating oil consumption, established a requirement that all heating oil must use a B2 blend (two percent biodiesel and 98 percent heating oil) by October 2015. New York residents use an average of two billion gallons of heating oil annually, translating to the use of at least 40 million gallons of biodiesel in that time.

This requirement came about thanks in part to soy checkoff-funded research and efforts to expand uses for soy. This state-wide requirement has opened the door for market expansion through increased blends and the potential for other states to establish similar blend requirements. Increases in biodiesel use means more demand for your soybeans, impacting your bottom line.
